A skill is a small, focused package that teaches Cerevisor how to do one thing well, produce a Word document, run recency-aware web research, publish a blog post, generate a video.

Read these in order if you've never used a skill before.

1. **[What are skills?](./what-are-skills.md)**: the concept, the file format, where they live on disk.
2. **[Browse and assign skills](./browse-and-assign-skills.md)**: the Skills panel, the Skill Viewer, drag-to-agent.
3. **[Create a skill in the Workshop](./create-a-new-skill-in-workshop.md)**: templates, the editor, validation, semantic embedding.
4. **[Skill compatibility with providers](./skill-compatibility-with-providers.md)**: why some skills need specific providers.
